Melbourne City Backpackers

"The Melbourne City Backpackers could be a good option if you can get a discount on the normal price, but it's not the best place for long stays. The neighbourhood, despite being well located, is a bit noisy. It make us not sleep very well. The rooms are not also the best ones. If someone try to get of the bed it starts making many noises and moving the whole bunk bed."

"No curtains on the beds, if you move on the bunks you will shake the other person up/down, messy rooms always in the dark, no number on beds so you don't which to take - same for the lockers, bathroom are clean but very small. You have to have your phone with you all the time because the key to your room and mains doors are through an app.. But staff are really nice and location is amazing!"

"Great location, really nice and helpful staff, self late check in, towels were provided in a private room, free good breakfast (toasts, peanut butter, jam, butter and coffee&tea), big kitchen. The only thing which wasn’t good was the temperature of the room. It was freezing:(( we stayed during the winter. Overall, the value was really good for this price, during warmer months it’s probably perfect for backpackers!"

"Probably one of the worst places I’ve stayed at to date, the facilities are very run down, needing some love, shower head missing, kitchen filthy, floors filthy, no ventilation in rooms. Yes it is a 3 star hostel but you should still get decent facilities. Would not recommend to is place at all"

"Pretty bad. Not made much effort to be a hostel. No sockets for the beds, which is such a cheap and easy investment. No excuse. And only 1 bathroom with 2 toilets, 2 showers and 2 sinks for an entire floor. And annoyingly closes the kitchen entirely at 11. And has very bad lounge area and no activities. Made no friends there as opposed to other hostels ive been at. And has a very annoying clumsy app/blutooth way of opening the doors."
