How day's many different events are happening here, the best known being the moonlight cinema Below you lies the birthplace of modern Australian- the site together of our nation in 1901 Australia becomes a nation on 1 January 1901 when the six colonies federate, and the Commonwealth of Australia is proclaimed in Centennial Park, Sydney. Lord Hopetoun is appointed as Australia’s first Governor-General. Edmund Barton (Protectionist, Member for Hunter, NSW, 1901‒03) is sworn in as Australia’s first Prime Minister."

"Had a fantastic evening at the moonlight film screening on my trip to Sydney. Take your own picnic,and bottle of bubbly. Recommend a picnic rug and blanket too. Great crowd atmosphere . Weird at first being amongst bats! Certainly do not see this in English out door cinemas."

"What a lovely evening! Cinema under the stars. Very well organised, food & drinks available or, as we did, bring your own picnic. Rent some bean bags for a very laid back view! Good quality picture, sound could be louder & centralised on the screen but well done to all. A highlight of our visit this year and actually, I think we preferred it's more relaxed approach to the otherwise amazing cinema on the harbour."
