"As we drove into this property it looked like an abandoned house. The grass was long, the garden unkept and the driveway potholed and muddy. The front deck fence had rotting gate posts. The front door was rotten and delaminating at the bottom. Not a good welcome. Inside the lounge room had a dilapidated couch with cuts and holes in the upholstery. The floor was bouncey and the crockery in the cabinet rattled when walking near it. The kitchen sink tap was broken. This is a very run down house. There is a bedroom upstairs that smelled musty and damp. We couldn't use that or the large back bedroom that was cold and smelly. The sliding door to the back bedroom was off the rollers and couldn't be closed. The door to the laundry couldn't be closed. This house isn't at a standard to rent out at any price, let alone at the premium price charged. The host refunded half the cost when I complained."
