"This room was very nice, warm, clean and comfortable, Uber into the city was reasonably priced and the staff were friendly and helpful, I would definitely stay here again."

"This place is a dump... Old and falling apart. Endured 3 nights in an "Executive" room and then made to pay an extortionate amount for Continental breakfasts (mediocre at best) that was included in the booking I made. (The manageress did not even have the decency to wear a mask when pupitrating the act of robbery on check out.) Before the response "we have no record of your booking" canned response to negative reviews, my booking reference was "205975". (Booking transfered from a sister hotel - and yes, I had explicitly checked that breakfast was included when seeking confirmation of the booking change but unfortunately I only had a verbal confirmation regarding the breakfast.) I will say that other members of staff were great - especially the young man from Nepal. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!"

"The service at this hotel is not present at all. Breakfast at Mr Hyde had ants all over the bakery section, and no refund at this time has been offered at all. Manager (Paula) on duty at the time took photos and said she had no authority to perform a refund, and a Senior Manager will contact me the next business day. The Senior Manager (Ollie) never contacted me by any means. No email, no phone call, finally when I reached Olly a measly offer of $50 refund was offered for 4 people! (the cost is normally $30 per person) however we were packaged with breakfast included for our two night stay. I have made several attempts to resolve this issue, by calling and only to be promised that Olly will return my call in which she has not. Oh, attempting to email or calling the Crest on Barkly offers no resolution at all, as phone calls are now been ignored as well as attempts at emailing. Highly NOT RECOMMEND this establishment at all."

"Stayed in a family room. The room could do with a lot of maintenance but overall for the price and location it was ok. I would stay again if I needed to be in the area. Pros. Walking distance from trams and trains. A great coffee shop cafe that sells take away alcohol below the motel. Free parking. Small gym and sauna. Cons. Poorly cleaned room, there was a contact lens on the floor of the bathroom, stains on the couch and carpet. Bug problem, there were ants in the bathroom the whole time we stayed there (3 days) and we found cockroaches in the bathroom and in a pizza box left out from our dinner the night before. I reported the cockroaches to the reception staff and showed them photos but they weren't interested. Overall maintenance of the room was poor. Carpet was frayed. Some lights did not work. Paper thin walls so you can hear everything from the neighbouring rooms and people walking up the hall. Stairs in the motel have broken safety bars on the steps and could be very dangerous if you aren't focused. Although I have mentioned a lot negatives most of these could be easily fixed and I've only mentioned everything as anyone of them might put some people off but I would stay again."

"The front reception and staff were all very friendly and helpful. The building itself needs a bit of TLC. There's a lot of rundown things going on. Note I was advised that the parking was 2.1 m. In fact it's 2 m. Good to know if you need to have the height."
