What sets us apart is our dedication to preserving the legacy of a legendary pizza maker, Salvatore Leo. We were fortunate enough to obtain his secret family recipe, and over the years, we have perfected his well-guarded pizza making techniques. Our goal is to provide you with a taste of true New York pizza right here in Australia.

At Sal's, we take pride in using only 100% authentic base ingredients that are imported directly from New York. Our signature slow-risen dough is made using genuine New York Milled Hard Spring Wheat Flour, giving you that unmistakable foldable base. Crispy on the outside, yet light, tender, and airy on the inside, our dough truly captures the essence of New York pizza.

Our sweet tomato sauce is made fresh daily using Sal's famous recipe, which originates from vine-ripened California tomatoes. To top it all off, we use 100% premium Wisconsin Mozzarella, sourced from sustainably farmed "happy cows." Wisconsin has been producing cheese since the 18th century, ensuring the highest quality for our pizzas.

At Sal's, we offer exclusive toppings that you won't find anywhere else. Our famous New York Pepperoni and Italian Meatballs are a true treat for your taste buds. And for those craving some heat, our Chicken Buffalo Wings are made using the authentic "Original 1964 Buffalo" recipe.

Salvatore Leo's journey began in 1941 in the small town of Corato in southern Italy's Puglia region. In search of a better life, his mother sent him to live with relatives in New York. Sal found himself in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where he quickly adapted to his new surroundings, despite not knowing a word of English.

Sal's passion for pizza making was discovered when he started working at his cousin Richie's pizzeria, Corato Pizza, in Ridgewood, Queens. It was here that his talent and love for creating delicious pizzas truly flourished.
