"Have stayed here on 2 occasions and it was top class. However my most recent stay will be my last. All the perks of the stay are now gone. For example the fantastic breakfast, the coffee machine in the room, and the pool was off limits which was extremely disappointing as we were so looking forward to a swim. The reception area was also all locked up, as was the previously open bar/ restaurant area. The location and place itself is beautiful but the services have fallen off and of course the price has risen and you can only stay a minimum of 3 nights now as well. Time to find a new hidden gem I'm afraid"
"The chalets are really nice. Two bedrooms. Everything you need.An outdoor heated pool. A decent breakfast. Top class"
"Just back from a wonderful 2 night stay in the Lodges. Great location between Bantry and Glengarriff. We cannot fault this fabulous hidden gem! Comfortable lodges with everything you need including peace and quiet. Fabulous outdoor pool, beautiful accommodation and gardens and the best breakfast we ever had. Thanks to our lovely host Richard who was very helpful at all times and is also a wonderful chef! We will definitely come back sooner rather than later."
"Our stay at Ballylickey House was like something out of a dream. As soon as we drove into the entrance we knew we had chosen a really special place to stay. The little lodge we stayed in was beautifully furnished, warm and inviting with a comfortable bed and a great shower. The view from the place included a lovely willow tree, flowers and the outdoor pool. The heated pool was a great addition to our stay, we really enjoyed being able to swim outside in Ireland without freezing. Alastair and Gwen were fantastic hosts, very welcoming and attentive. The continental breakfast in the mornings was fantastic, the best continental I've ever had with eggs and fresh pastries. Taking a walk around the beautiful garden was another gift from the place, so idyllic. We really enjoyed our stay, and we didn't want to leave. We'll definitely come back again next year!"
"A lovely, newly refurbished placed to stay in a beautiful part of the country. The lodges are very high standard, very comfortable and family friendly. The outdoor pool is actually warm (a real rarity!) and the gardens are beautifully maintained. The hosts are so welcoming and cannot do enough to make your visit as enjoyable as it can be. Highly recommended."
