"Staff are great. That is really the only thing this place has going for it. Very tired building. The rooms are at best, basic, bed linen smelled musty and to be honest I slept on top of the bed in my jogging bottoms that I had thankfully brought with me. I managed about 2 hours sleep, because other guests were making so much noise, banging doors etc. The walls are so thin you can hear everything."
"Convenient for the station. Breakfast very good. Room a bit tired but very adequate."
"The Waverley hotel is close to the railway station. The rooms are very dated but warm with plenty of hot water. Staff are welcoming and the breakfast is super."
"Went for a wedding reception. Food was lovely. Main problem that a lot of us had was ordering a drink that had lemonade. It came out of a big bottle that was warm and flat. For the cost they could have had it cold."
"This place was very outdated and tired looking. It is in desperate need of a revamp. There was a big hole in wall at side of window frame. Toilet roll holder kept coming apart at slightest touch. The man who checked us in came across very miserable and not very welcoming at all. The cooked breakfast was ok. Sausages were the standard cheap ones but I have tasted worse. The bowl of fruit did not look appetising and did not look like it had been done fresh that morning. We were also informed by email three days prior to arriving that they had a wedding party on and it will be noisy, this should be relayed to other people staying when they book not after they have paid and withing days of arriving. We were also put in a room right above the party room and therefore could not sleep until gone 1am and we were having to get up early to travel back home. All in all you would be better booking the Premier Inn down the road. It works out same price but it's more up to date with bigger rooms and the unlimited breakfast looks to die for."
