"Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending a gala event at the hotel. We had a wonderful time. The venue/room was beautiful, the food was delicious and the staff were excellent. Shane who was everywhere including behind the bar did a great job of keeping the conversation going while being extremely busy."
"I'm giving five stars based largely on one point: the amazingly clean and spacious bathrooms. Not only were the bathrooms clean when we arrived, the housekeeping staff did a beautiful job with daily cleaning throughout our stay. Every inch of the bathroom sparkled, and we appreciated it! Amenities were replaced, towels folded just so...really, a stellar job"
"I celebrated a special birthday here. It was fantastic. The food was excellent. The room super. The staff couldn't have been better. A great time was had. Thanks"
"It's a good hotel, but don't think you're spending a night in a Castle! We stayed here with a group and found the property to be beautiful. It's located a short walk from the quaint town of Dunboyne and we recommend taking a stroll down there. Our room at the hotel was nice but had no view at all. We were literally in the basement. Dinner and bar area was very good. I would stay here again, but we never found the dungeon!"
Amenities were replaced, towels folded just so...really, a stellar job. Other than that, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Service was good in the restaurants, in the spa and at the desk. I think this property could up their game in little (but important) ways, like having fluffier pillows in the rooms and by offering better coffee at breakfast. The spa, which was well designed, suffered from a little neglect. A few things were out of order and/or needed sprucing up. For a €10 surcharge for guests, it was a steal. Glam it up a little and charge me €20 next time and I won't complain! The prix fixe meal at the onsite restaurant was serviceable but slightly heavy-handed. The appetizers, mains and even desserts fell just short of expectations, although I could tell the staff was trying hard to put on an elegant meal. With a little vision and focus the food could be elevated to something even more special and in line with the property as a whole. So a very nice stay overall, with hopes that management can make some minor tweaks to make the hotel really stand out. I would definitely come here again."
