Reviews of The Redbank Guesthouse
"I mean you can stay a night there , there are beds and shower with warm water. But it was a disaster . We were told to come to check in at 3 pm - the door was closed, we rang the door we rang the number - there was no answer. Another 3 couples were waiting same as us. We finally reached somebody on a private mobile phone number and we were told to wait . Finally 25 min later one of the workers opened the door, he told us to wait a little bit while he checked if our room was ready(???)!!! after another 5 min he gave us the key , we went to the room, and there was this weird smell of an air freshener. (???) the room was very “vintage” but there were stains on the sheets and dust on top of the mirror. We left to the town and returned to our room that night and established that we have everything for tea makings but we don’t have a kettle !!!! We went to Reception but we didn’t find anyone there. There was no water to drink, no kettle to make a cup of tea and nobody that we could turn to!(???) In the morning we asked to order 2 full Irish breakfasts, which on the menu said was: 2 sausages 2 bacon, 2 hash browns , and the same worker there was yesterday took our order no bother, in a while he brought us 2 plates with 1 sausage 1 beacon and 1 hash brown!!! When the guy came back we made him aware that we ordered full Irish breakfast then he told us that they don’t do that because it gets waisted… (????) But at the same time the couple who sat beside us got 2 sausages 2 bacons 2 hash browns on the plate no problem. How is that a service? How is that acceptable? We payed for 2 nights, stayed only one and we will never stay with you again."
"I stayed at the Red Bank House in September of 2008. From the moment I stepped into the building until the day I left I received the finest of service. My room was spacious and very comfortable, and the food was excellent. The owner/chef came to my table at breakfast on several mornings to inquire how I was doing, and if I was enjoying myself. I highly recommend this establishment if you happen to be in need of a great B&B in Skerries!"
"I seriously wonder how this hotel got 4.2 stars. - on the day of arrival, the staff did not expect us and asked if we had already paid - the majority of the joints in the bathroom was covered with black mold - Even the ceiling in the bathroom was black with mold - the mattress was completely worn out and the bed had dirty bed linen - actually the room window should have two levers to close it, one was completely missing and it didn't close properly - the breakfast was ok, but on all days except the first there were always missing items, but they were listed on the breakfast menu - the furniture was damaged in many places or completely broken through I cannot recommend the redbank guesthouse to anyone and can only warn you all. I wish I could have given it 0 stars, but unfortunately that's not an option here. we had the impression that the guesthouse used to be good a few years ago and since then the owner has changed."
"Seems to have picked up some poor reviews recently, but I thought all was fine. Friendly welcome, good WiFi, decent breakfast and centrally located in the town. Also easily accessible from Dublin City centre by train."
"Very disappointed, rooms were dusty smelt funny bed sheets were dirty. Holes in the walls which were hidden by random wonky pictures. Bathroom had lots of rust around shower and mould. Owners were lovely people but just did not have a notion of how to run the place , breakfast was ok"
