"Really appalled and disappointed as to how this hotel (which was quite nice a few years ago) has deteriorated! The hotel reception stank and was filthy. They now charge a £100 deposit for the privilege of staying there (which you don’t get back for at least a week after you’ve stayed?!) and harangue you with endless emails and text messages. After having booked a room and turning up to see how dirty the reception was, I couldn’t even bring myself to stay for the night, but still had to pay the deposit! Disgusting and certainly not a 4 star experience. What a shame - it used to be good!"
"Arrived at the hotel to check in, I was asked for ID but didn't have any on me, so was refused check in and after 2 hours of travelling was told we would have to find another hotel to stay in. Atmosphere was dead on arrival didn't feel welcome at all. I have tried to get a full refund but was only refunded £5 of the £56 I paid. This was an Christmas present for my boyfriend. I have never stayed at a hotel that has requested ID. DO NOT STAY HERE! This hotel is a scam you won't get a refund if you are turned away. I wish I had checked the reviews before I chose to stay here! We did manage to find a good ol' trusty Premier Inn who welcomed us and there was no need for any ID."
"2min from the beach. A little far from the city center, but the walk is nice and beautiful. The room is great, there are some stairs, but nothing too complicated. A suggestion for parking: there is a parking lot nearby, Norton Road Car Park or in the nearby streets between the hotel and this car park, the prices are even good compared to others. Up to 9 am costs 8.10 and up to 12 a little more, something like that. You can check it on Google Street view. I don't know if it's 24h, but I preferred to take the car at 20h and leave it closer to the hotel. At 9 am, I paid two more hours on the street and left"
"This was the worst hotel I have stayed in. Room was dirty, bathroom door didn't close properly, bathroom floor was bare, no flooring on it. The cups in the room were not properly cleaned and the floor needed a vacuum despite us being told the room had been cleaned. The sofa bed was ridiculously lumpy and uncomfortable, my daughter could not sleep on it. Asked for a refund as soon as we saw the room but they said they couldn't. Fire alarm went off at 4am and no one was answering reception phone when we tried to call to see if it was genuine. I stayed here in June, but feel compelled to now leave a review as I have had absolutely no response from the hotel for the complaint that I made. Do not be deceived by photos, this is not a nice place to stay."
"This hotel is an utter dump. Difficult to know where to start. The reception area is dirty and unkept. The receptionist was rude and unhelpful. The room was old and tired. The furniture was rotten and the TV didn’t work. This place is without a doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Avoid at all costs. You would be better off in a bus shelter."
