Reviews of Amphibian King
"My initial experience with Amphibian King was very positive, and I was hugely impressed with the friendliness and diligence of the staff. Unfortunately, when the sole of the Gel Kayano I had bought started to come off after two months of fairly light activity, I was forced to bring them back. As they didn't have my size in stock, I was told that they would send me out a new pair in the coming days. Two weeks and numerous calls to the store later, I still hadn't received my replacement. It turned out that the owner of the store, Damien McKeever, had decided to renege on what his staff member had offered me. As I was frustrated with how badly the situation had been handled, I asked for a refund instead. Once again, Damien refused. I was forced to take the matter to the Small Claims Court. This was in 2016. Damien proceeded to drag out this matter for seven years, obstinately refusing to resolve the issue. He had to be brought to court and ordered (on more than one occasion) to do what any reasonable retailer would have done in the first place. Given that there are so many great running stores in Dublin these days, I would recommended shopping elsewhere. There are more professional, and certainly cheaper, alternatives out there."
"This is my second time visiting for running shoes. Both experiences were great. Today, Andrew, was wonderful to deal with. He juggled between customers to keep us all happy. Give the shop a shout and they’ll happily help."
"I was recommended amphibian King by my chiropractor. I went there and got a pair of runners for walking/running to help with my hip issue. I was assessed and told my feet rotate inwards and was given 3 pairs of runners to choose from. I chose one pair and they cost 150 euro but I started having knee pain almost right away (after a couple hours wearing them). I tried ringing the shop a few times and then contacted them on their website via the chat feature. After an hour or two I got a response providing an email address I could contact. It has been over a week now since I emailed with no response. I am left frustrated and the customer service was not the best. I assume it is too late now as I have worn the shoes quite a bit (with knee straps) to resolve this."
"Really happy with my visit to Amphibian King. Darragh was friendly and listened to my requirements intently. His knowledge was extensive and left me feeling confident in the choice of runners I made with his recommendation. Couldn't recommend more"
"I've been getting running shoes there for years. The staff are very knowledgeable and they always do a proper fitting. Recommend"
