Reviews of Mercato
"Discovered Mercato recently on a day trip to Howth. It is an ideal place for a light lunch. Very friendly staff and impeccable service. I had a Pizza slice and a glass of red wine. Very good value."
"Beautiful coffee, delicious pizza and toasted sandwiches, the food they sell on the shelves make lovely treats. All staff welcoming and spoil my dog rotten when we come in!"
"I always head to this place when I'm in Howth. The pizza is delicious and reminds of the potato ones they do in Rome. Lovely selection of Irish products for sale as well. Staff are always friendly."
"Very bad experience: we came for a glass of wine as well as a glass of mulled wine (at 5€25). When I get my glass of mulled wine, it is barely more than half full (in a small glass). When I allow myself to point it out to the (blonde) waitress politely, she retorts that "this is the usual dose". I go back to my seat without insisting, she comes back to my table with a measuring cup, cheekily, to prove to me that she is respecting the dose. I tell her that is not the point, that at this price, you at least expect to have your glass filled and I compare it to France. From there, she answers me that "this is Ireland", so what, in Ireland it is customary to scam and especially not to be able to show good business sense when a customer makes a remark to you? Show a sense of service and above all avoid looking down on a customer who makes you a remark (here founded), this will avoid you a very bad opinion compared to the few positive reviews that you have already received. The French girl :)"
"This is the best coffee I’ve had in Howth. Up until recently it was Bodega (they still do a good cup) but give this place a try. Only wish it was open early on weekdays. Nice pastries too."
