"Excellent service from the staff, very helpful and friendly but the rooms and deep cleaning is below par. This is not the general cleaning of the rooms I'm complaining about. I'm aware your are paying for the gym facilities which don't come free when you stay in the hotel but the cost of the rooms dont reflect what you receive. First visit, dirty carpet, stains on bed base, dried food on furniture, splash marks on all the walls, it's just felt unclean. Chips all over door frames. It was the same in the gym changing rooms, shower walls and doors were dirty. Second visit which I wasn't looking forward to, we got put in a different room with the same issues. I have stayed in better Premier inns. The gym facilities are excellent but I'm sorry I will never stay in a village hotel again, this has put me right off. The holiday Inn express next door is in much better condition."
"Stayed here for the weekend & as my son is autistic, I have to plan everything. The hotel was outstanding, so warm welcoming & accommodating. Tracey in particular was absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way for us. Ps breakfast had no waffles available which wasn't great for kids but this did not outweigh the pros"
"Myself and partner stayed here on Friday purely for a night of peace and quiet & that’s exactly what we got, on arrival we was greeted by Tracey who instantly made us feel at home. When we got to our room we wanted to see if there was anything better to offer as Tv channels in the standard double was a little naff, we went down to reception and Tracey upgraded us to one of the club rooms, she did this so quickly and efficiently & we had no other messing around with our old room key, She was such a lovely lady and deserves some recognition for her hard work and great customer service as nowadays you don't see many happy smiling faces."
"As we we’re attending a Reunion dinner on Saturday evening, we decided to pop into the hotel on Friday. We were disappointed that there was no lounge to sit in with friends. Now to the dinner on Saturday evening. The soup was delicious Tomato and red pepper. The main was Turkey with whole carrots, broccoli spears, roast potatoes, a stuffing ball. All covered in a thick white sauce ( which should have been in a sauce bowl). No gravy to be seen. Stuffing under cooked.Potatoes very dry. Sweet.. very nice if you like rich chocolate pudding. Coffee.. water supplied, but make your own with a sachet of instant coffee. I have never seen the likes of this before in all the years of attending reunion meals in all sorts of large and small hotels. I was shocked to see the low standard, for a large spa hotel. I’m glad I didn’t stay there."
"The hotel is always nice to visit. However the rooms are incredibly hot, even during the colder months. And you are only offered a fan for comfort, if there is one available. Also the checking in process is incredibly awkward. With only one member of staff teaching you how to use their systems on iPads to check yourself in. Very fussy, confusing, and awkward to say the least. Nice breakfast, small selection of items but very well done and they all taste great. The swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi helps you relax and unwind and the locker rooms are large and plenty of space. The locker keys are awkward to use being digital. And the fact you have to pay £1.50 for the use of a towel as a hotel guest is incredibly inconvenient and unexpected. You'd expect this in the £5 you've already paid for the use of the pool when booking the hotel originally! With no mention of this anywhere on the website. The pool was also colder than you'd expect. So just a heads up on that also. I found this refreshing, but others wouldn't. The bar and lounge are well equipped with comfy seats, large TVs, and a good selection of drinks. This is the second time I've stayed here and would definitely stay here again. Although I would think twice about the pool."
