"I stay at Hotel Du Vin quite a bit but tried somewhere different for a change. Room was better with the great views, especially from inside the roll top bath. Breakfast was fantastic and delivered to the room as an option so you can sit at the table overlooking the downs. Will definitely stay again."

"We stayed for one night at Number 38 in Clifton in room 5. The room was clean and well decorated and has a great view over the city. Room 5 has a well sized bathroom, roll top bath with nice products to use. There were bottles of water, bathrobes, slippers, a Roberts radio and TV in the room. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast delicious! Although the hotel was fully booked and we got the last room available we didn't see any other guests on our stay except when we were checking out. As we booked through Mr & Mrs Smith we got a free cocktail which we enjoyed in the lounge area. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again. It was in a convenient location with plenty to do within walking distance. As we stayed at the weekend parking was free and easy outside the hotel."

"I ended up cancelling my booking here for my wedding after every interaction with staff left me feeling deflated and stupid and some of the previous reviews suggest it's no better on arrival so I couldn't take the risk. I asked if there was a full length mirror in the room and was told there wasn't and there was no possibility for getting one, and when I asked if I could bring my own they were hesitant and seemed off about it but ultimately agreed. When asking about parking options for either ourselves or our photographer (we're bringing a mirror after all) I was told categorically that parking was not an option for the day for anyone but ourselves, even if they had spare permits available on the day, in-case one of the guests needed it themselves. This is fine but the conversation was not apologetic, the receptionist told me she'd never been asked to help with parking options for hair, makeup or photographers before, that guests usually sort it themselves which left me feeling like I was being unreasonable for trying to plan ahead to make sure the day goes smoothly (parking in Bristol is the worst, I'm an over planner, I like to have everything sorted). We have now booked a luxury apartment for the same price."

"A beautiful visit to Number 38. We stayed in room 12, it was a gorgeous room. Nice lounge with a lovely view over Clifton, lovely giant comfy bed, gorgeous bathroom with a massive deep tub! Breakfast was quick and plentiful (full English was delicious). The hotel was a short walk to restaurants and town!(We ate at Urban Tandoor which is 3 minutes walk and it was lovely). I would really recommend and me and my partner will certainly be coming back. Thanks"

"Great medium size b and b on the northern outskirts of Clifton. Free parking outside with permit if you stay over 1 night. Great breakfast but ordered too much on 1st morning. Quite expensive for a b and b - it's not ' luxury'. Great staff. Comfy beds. Large TV and Roberts radio."
