Holiday Inn Express Bath, an IHG Hotel Brougham Hayes, Bath BA2 3QU

"This is a mixed review. On the good side, the staff were really nice, building modern, breakfast brilliant and the room was spotless and very comfortable. On the downside, the room rate was high, and I didn't realise until I got there that there is also an additional £15 car park charge per night for parking in the car park. Also, the extractor fan in the bathroom could not be turned off and ran all night droning quite loudly - it probably needs replacing. As a result I didn't get much sleep. I enjoyed a stay at another Holiday Inn express earlier this year, but would not want to stay at this one again unfortunately."

"Stayed in Bath as went to watch a show at the forum . Staff were really friendly, we were surprised as our room was ready at 1pm. Nice clean and airy room, bed was comfy, had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was a self service buffet. It was hot and plentiful. Would definitely stay again."

"Pleasant, clean, modern and well designed room. It was quite small, but everything was set out so it was easily accessible if needed. Staff were helpful and provided maps to help us find out way into town - a 15 minute walk, or thereabouts. Air conditioning worked reasonably well, though there was a strange humming noise intermittently which seemed to come from outside the room. No idea where, though! The downside for me was the self-service breakfast. It was very limited, especially for anyone with dietary restrictions, such as gluten, or dairy (milk). Only scrambled eggs (containing milk), no fried or boiled, and bread was brown or white. This meant we had to get breakfast elsewhere, which is far from ideal when breakfast is included in the room price. Bear in mind the issues around breakfast when booking here, otherwise, a very pleasant hotel."

"Lovely room. Nice comfy bed and decent bathroom. Quiet and spacious. The check in computer had crashed before I arrived, so couldn't check in immediately. Not a problem though. Staff shortage had the kitchen out of action, so a walk into Bath was necessary. Car park was £15 for 24 hours. Pricey."

"It was an impromptu decision to stay at this hotel and no regrets. We were lucky we were able to check in slightly before 3pm and the room was clean and service staff were great. The beds were really comfy and the toilets well equipped. Breakfast was part of the package and it was quite a spread. Location was not too bad, just a 10 mins walk to Bath town. Will be back for sure!"
