High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom
About the Business
Welcome to the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom, located in the iconic Canada House on Pall Mall in the heart of London, England. As an embassy, establishment, and point of interest, the High Commission of Canada serves as the link between Canada and the United Kingdom, facilitating diplomatic relations, economic partnerships, and cultural exchange.
Canada House itself is an architectural masterpiece, constructed in the 1820s by the noted British architect Sir Robert Smirke. The building has served as the home of the Canadian High Commission since the 1920s, and underwent a major renovation in the early 21st century to modernize and enhance its facilities. Now, Canada House is a hub of activity, where Canadians living in the UK can gather, and where British citizens can learn more about Canada and the Canadian way of life.
The High Commission is staffed by a team of skilled and dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to represent Canada's interests in the United Kingdom. Our diplomats are trained negotiators, skilled communicators, and experts in a wide range of fields, from trade and investment to environmental policy and national security. They are supported by a team of operations personnel, who work to ensure that Canada House functions smoothly and efficiently, from the provision of consular services to the organization of cultural events and receptions.
As an institution, the High Commission of Canada is committed to promoting Canadian values and interests in the United Kingdom, while also fostering cooperation and understanding between our two nations. We work closely with our UK counterparts to address global issues of mutual concern, and to build a better, more prosperous and more peaceful world for all.
So whether you are a Canadian living in the UK, a British citizen curious about Canada, or a researcher or student seeking information on Canada-UK relations, we invite you to learn more about the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom. With our commitment to service, excellence and innovation, we are proud to represent Canada in the UK, and to serve as a positive and constructive force for change in the world.

"THE WORST HIGH COMMISSION OF CANADA IN LONDON. If you have applied for visit visa to Canada and application ended up in this office. Then expect to wait for maybe around 1, 2 years or probably centuries regarding application. If you have applied for the study visa, do not worry, they will definitely give you quicker reply in REFUSAL. Super lazy staff to even bother to work on your applications, if they do not have the headcounts to handle the applications, then hire more staff or refund customers for their money and time you have wasted. UNPROFESSIONAL!!"
"I have waited 4 months for my straight forward visitor visa application. I tried to call, email and submit webform many times. I got no response back,my trip was in December . I paid 1000 Pounds already but now I have lose it all. I had a good impression about Canada but this interaction is absolutely dreadful. still no visa. 4 months now. Cancelled trip. Lost all the money and my insurance won't cover it. What a disgrace"
"I used to think that Canada is a better country than the USA but unfortunately Canada is as difficult and unwelcoming as their neighbours. For a simple tourist visa, they make you sit for hours filling out forms in a very clunky website, then they charge you over £100 for your own time, then they force you to take time off work to go to a local 3rd party agency, where the staff speaks to people with a condescending tone that resembles soldiers yelling at POWs, and when you finally reach the appointment they send you back home if you didn’t print out all paperwork they inundate your inbox with. My time is precious to me, and so is my dignity. I deserve to be treated with respect especially given that all I wanted is to have a good time travelling the beautiful country Canada seems to be. And spend money there. As a result, I will just cancel my flights and go somewhere where I am more welcome. Canada: Don’t be like them. You can do better. You should do better."
"This institution is not Canada's embassy. It is Canada's shame. Needed to get Permanent Resident Travel Document urgently. 6 weeks later, no response at all. Ended up travelling via the US and land border. A similar application for a different person was processed at Paris embassy in less than 2 weeks. Oh... and when I asked them to withdraw my application and refund the 50 CAD processing fee, they happily agreed to withdraw but provided no refund as "processing already started." Avoid at all costs."
"Had one of our passports stolen while out eating. The lady who helped us get our passport back was the nicest most helpful person on the planet. Thank you so much for all your care and support."
