"The hotel is lovely and great facilities. The food was really good. With a few changes, I feel this could be a top quality hotel. Some of the staff did not seem too happy to be there and the walls were paper thin so did hear the room next to us. However, the room was really nice and spacious and I think with more energy and friendliness from staff and any extra sound proofing, then this would be a really great hotel"
"I wouldn’t go again. Rooms are dated (had nice views though), spa wasn’t clean (pubic hair in the jacuzzi, indoor pool was cloudy). You have to pay £7 for a gown?! Bar was very expensive - £10 for a glass of poor quality red wine!!! Only one vegetarian dinner option. Breakfast was very greasy, and of poor quality. Receptionist staff were not the friendliest, although they did help when needed. The hotel is situated in a very good area though, with lots of parking. Grounds are very nice and well maintained. Very close to the town centre. Outdoor pool was much cleaner, and very nice. Overall - this hotel has lots of potential, and it’s a real shame it’s the way it is."
"Dreadful place. On arrival the place looks lovely. From there things go down hill very quickly. Our room was small, not very clean and the bathroom smelt of sewage. Shortly after arriving we had no hot water in our room. The steam room in the spa wasn’t working and the rest of the spa is run down. Lots of stuff is broken including the sun beds. Even the simple things were missing. No towels, no gowns, but the be hired for a fee! The lemon water jug was empty. Glasses left every where waiting for some one to collect. Outside area is fairly nice though. Restaurant is terrible. Filthy. Cobwebs every where. Seats dirty and the food is very poor. Staff wise, well there doesn’t seem to be any. Hardly anyone on reception, no one in the spa and the restaurant seems to have one young girl working in it. Expect to wait 1 to 2 hours for food. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels. This one is easily the worse!!"
"We held our wedding reception here in April 2022. The day was absolutely perfect and the staff did everything they could to make it run smoothly. They were friendly, helpful and the food and facilities were excellent. Most of our guests stayed at the hotel and made use of the spa and said how much they'd enjoyed it. It is a great reception venue as there are several different spaces to use for drinks, wedding breakfast and dancing, and it all flows well. The patio area is lovely too. Overall, it was am amazing day and we are very grateful to Douglas, Becky and all the staff!"
"Really surprised by the high number of ‘awful’ reviews. We stayed for the weekend, 2 nights, including dinner and breakfast on both days, and we thought it was amazing value for money. The hotel itself is lovely and downstairs is very modern and aesthetically pleasing. Our room was small but very clean and we had a very comfortable bed with everything we needed. The spa is great, indoor pool and facilities are great as well as the outdoor hydro pool. Considering we are gym goers we thought the facilities were perfect, had everything we needed. Breakfast has a good buffet. Good selection of English breakfast, yoghurts toast coffee machine. Although no fruit at all. Dinner was lovely, amazing burger. The only thing I would say about our stay is that the staff could be more friendly and approachable and the truffle Parmesan chips did not seem like it had any truffle. We also thought they could promote their massage and beauty treatments a bit more, we wouldn’t have known they offered them. It seemed more like a hotel with spa facilities rather than a spa. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, and we would definitely stay again for what we paid for."
