"Westerham is a great location for walking the North Downs and has a lovely woodland walk to Churchill's house, Chartwell (National Trust). Staff at The Kings Arms are friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is clearly in need of extensive refurbishment. Our room was clean and very large. It took us a while to figure out the lights as the sockets for the bedside table lamps are controlled by a light switch in the hall. The overhead light fitting had no bulbs in it, so assume that doesn't work at all. We only had a standard lamp which we moved around to help us see! Also concerned about the metal hinge holding the wooden bed frame together and the large chunk of bathroom ceiling coming down (see photos). Had heard that the rooms were cold, but ours was OK despite the weather being quite chilly. The breakfast, cooked and continental, was very good and served in a nice room near the reception."

"The service was great, they were really friendly, the only problem was that my mum’s food was off, so we had to sent it back. But we loved the rest of our dinner, it was really nice and enjoyable, and we might go back."

"We stayed as we had stayed here years ago on honeymoon the staff were helpful but a lot of the building is in a poor state needing plastering paint etc ,the coffee machine did not work and no cook for cooked breakfast, although we got a part refund it did spoil it. The lady on the reception said they were doing renovations bit by bit as the bar has already been sorted hopefully the rest will be soon."
