"This is an exceptionally beautiful hotel. We only came here for a meal but it was very lovely and relaxing sitting overlooking the fountain. Staff were very friendly and professional. The grounds are stunning and sprawling. Modern sculptures against the traditional topiary and gardens contrast so well. Dog friendly. Lots of parking spaces. A hidden gem."
"Went for afternoon tea, the food was great; the sandwiches were completely delicious and more were provided when we devoured them rather quickly. The scones light, and the cakes were fantastic. The tea menu has become smaller, but there were a couple of types we hadn't had before that we tried. One negative, despite booking in for a specific time, the service was very slow, 45 minutes for food to arrive and 25 minutes for the tea! Don't ask for a coffee, though... the wait was worse. It was great coffee, but my husband was convinced they had to be waiting for the beans to arrive at Heathrow as it took so long to get to our table. Having said that, the staff were pleasant and helpful... just not very speedy. Disabled access is not clearly signposted and while it must be accessible by law... I'm not sure if I'd used my wheelchair I'd have made it in. There are no disabled parking spaces marked out."
"We had the fabulous New Years Eve package. We cannot praise the staff, food, room highly enough. It was a lovely experience, enhanced by charming staff who made us feel very welcome . The Duke of Wellington suite is very comfortable with great views of the beautifully kept gardens and grounds. The food was delicious and very well presented. Despite being a very busy season for all the staff, we never felt rushed in fact quite the opposite as we were told on many occasions to take our time and relax. Signalling out one member of staff would be very difficult as we were impressed by the professional but friendly attitude of every member of your team that we met. Very much looking forward to visiting again ."
"Once we arrived at Great Fosters everyone was so welcoming and lovely. We came here for afternoon tea and it was delicious and in a lovely setting. The service was fantastic, special thank you to Larissa (I hope I got her name correctly) and Daniel for hosting us. Also a special thank you to the doorman (sorry didn’t get his name) and Adam, and Alex for touring us around the hotel. The grounds are stunning and there’s a lot to see and walk around, we really enjoyed it. Thank you so much to everyone, we will definitely be back here to stay as it was so lovely and the bedrooms are beautifully historic with a lot of the building being kept as it originally was built as!"
