High Tor Hotel

"the bathroom let us down, scolding water with no way to change the temperature, would not move. Decided to try the bath, plug got stuck as it seems to not be designed to even have a bath! had to pry it out! The stay was also to be a treat for my partner for his birthday, £11 for two banners and a milk tray box. i could’ve done better for that price! The staff were lovely and so was the rest of the trip, just greatly disappointed by this."

"Staff are excellent! Very accommodating to our large party of 15 people to celebrate a 70th birthday party. We all had such a lovely time. Rooms were clean and tidy. Most of them were good however, my partners toilet didn't flush and the room was quite cold when we arrived. The breakfasts were lovely our evening meals weren't outstanding but they were ok. But the staff were brilliant and friendly in this delightful hotel."

"Beautiful location and lovely clean room only criticism is the toilet is not enclosed in the room we stayed in so not very private when going to the toilet. ? Maybe partitioning it off so can have a little privacy. Breakfast was beautiful, service with a smile and whole hotel immaculately clean. Would highly recommend."

"There are some positives about this hotel, the location is beautiful, the decor is traditional and in keeping, the bar area was cozy, the shower and bathroom in our room was good and the view from our room was also good. The staff were also friendly. However unfortunately there were three things that let the hotel down, the bed was uncomfortable and gave my partner a bad back and she did not sleep. This is after all the most important part of a hotel stay. You had to choose a breakfast time slot, but we went earlier around 7.30 and as no one had booked this slot no one was available or around to serve us. You should be able and have the flexibility to change your mind if you want to go earlier or later particularly after not sleeping for the majority of the night. Lastly, there was a lingering smell of curry throughout and in our room."

"We spent our honeymoon at this beautiful old house. Its stunning. The surroundings are beautiful. The owner and his wife were amazing, very officiant, friendly nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely, and the little bar was cozy yet modern. The view from the hotel was lovely and at night you could hear the river. We will definitely be going back. We'll worth the money we paid. Can't say highly enough how good it is."
