OYO the Gables Hotel, Birmingham Airport

"Recently stayed for 3 nights. Very basic, noisy but comfortable. Staff on 3 occasions let themselves in and entered my room, not acceptable. Felt very uneasy staying there. Would never stay again or recommend it to anyone either!!!"

"Stayed there Saturday night in a twin room with my 10 year old daughter. The room was nice and clean but the walls are paper thin. I was trying to settle my little girl down and the resident in the room next door was playing music on his phone very loudly and then shouting when he received a call. There were no staff on the premises and he sounded high or drunk with appalling language."

"Arrived at the Hotel at 6pm to find it closed. Rang the contact number for the Hotel and got an overseas customer service line who check my reservation and told me it had been cancelled earlier in the day.... completely unacceptable behaviour. Shocking"

"Booking was cancelled in the last minute literally. Did the booking for a double for 2 nights around 2-3 weeks ago and they sent me an email with the cancellation literally the night before I gave this review, so not even 24 hours before, and not like that is enough I also need to call them to get my money back let alone the inconvenience caused. Customer service is literally un-existing. Don't remember giving any 1 star or even bad reviews but this is not normal or fair"

"The room was very small, but that I wasn’t too concerned about. My main issues was the the room was very dirty. These rooms clearly do not get cleaned properly. Carpets were dirty, skirting boards coated in dirt, the poor and cheap furniture was coated with dust, the bathroom door/ screen had fallen apart, the toilet area had clearly not been cleaned in a long time, the shower cubical was covered in black mould, the room door very thin so I could hear the noise in the hallway and it looked like the bottom of the door had been kick through at some point. When I went to reception, no staff were present to sort out changing my room. The bed was very uncomfortable and only 1 very thin pillow was supplied. The heating didn’t work so the room was freezing. I was genuinely considering leaving the room and going back to the airport to sleep in the terminal."
