"Came up to help some friends move out. We shortly received fines following the move early September, it's taken the slate yard over 4 months to tell us they didn't receive the Car Number plate within reasonable time. As a result I'm left with £340 worth of 2 fines, due to sheer incompetence from management. Why on earth did it take 4 months to get this basic answer to investigate something so simple? This company has no integrity at all, AVOID this place at all costs. As and when you decide to move out they won't respond to anything, nor will they bother registering a hire vehicle in time on their systems. The reality now is that rather than sorting this out back in September when it may have been possible to resolve the fines and get them cancelled, they've dragged their heels with it, and because they have dragged it on for 4 months obviously, you can't cancel anything once the initial fines because deadlines passed months ago. Shocking management, I've never dealt with such incompetence and lack of professionalism in my life, save yourselves the time, effort and stress. There needs to be some firings with immediate effect from this heartless and incompetent management."
"The Slate Yard is a fantastic place, to live, whether you are new to Manchester or a seasoned veteran. The facilities are excellent, the location makes exploring the city very easy, whilst also being quite quiet, and the apartments are both modern and spacious. An ideal home for those new to a city or waiting to get on the property ladder. It has all the amenities you could ever need; a parcel store, private dining, gym and car parking (as well as a good deal with the local NCP) and many more. What makes the Slate Yard exceptional however are the staff who always go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable, help with any issues quickly and efficiently, and are very attentive and personable. I’d like to personally thank many of the staff: Euan showed us around the apartment initially and was always available should an issue arise. Andrea brings a positive energy and friendly atmosphere and helps with any issue you have. Since he joined the team during my tenancy, Jordan carried himself with exceptional professionalism and was willing to go the extra mile to make our stay valuable. All of these people and many more contributed to a great experience for us, so we wanted to write this review as a true reflection of what life at the slate yard is like. Would highly recommend ✳️✳️✳️✳️✳️"
"Check-in / out processes at Slate Yard need to be massively improved. Staff took 8 weeks to return my rental deposit. Emailed regularly for the first 5 weeks before I stopped receiving responses. Rang every working day for the latter 3 weeks, was promised on several occasions that deposit return would be actioned by the end of the week, which would quickly turn into the end of the following week. The delays hampered my ability to move into my next apartment. Can't fault the facilities but if you're leaving Slate Yard and are expecting to get a quick turnaround on your deposit you may want to have a word with staff well in advance of departing or expect disappointment."
"BECOME AN UNPLEASANT PLACE TO LIVE. A SENIOR MEMBER OF URBAN BUBBLE / LEGAL & GENERAL NEEDS TO BE AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS HERE AND A SERIOUS IMPROVEMENT NEEDS TO BE MADE. Since moving in September 2021 I've had nothing but problems and the service from Urban Bubble is worsening rapidly, worse still I've just had a rent increase! - Upon moving in to a brand new apartment no snagging had been carried out due to people off sick - Boiler didn't work, broken freezer, balcony door broke, bathroom door broke, wardrobe doors needed aligning and unfinished paint work. - 1 year later balcony door still not fully repaired, spent the full Winter season 2021/22 with unsealed balcony doors. - Directly overlooking a building site where the construction company works during illegal hours. - Short terms lets regularly checking in. - No CCTV in apartment corridors. - Extremely poor communication from management team and the only time a resolve is ever attempted is if multiple people flag the same issue. - Both lifts in tallest block constantly broken and have to take the stairs. - Tenants throw items including fire crackers and full water bottles from balconies at people and dogs. - Hard and cheap furniture, I put my back out for the first time in my life 2 months after moving in. - Parcel service is an absolute disaster - Changed to Parcel Safe, codes no longer received for access and parcels go missing. - I've had 2 neighbors whilst living here, one smoked weed and cigarettes every day in his apartment causing the fumes to come through my air vents - Management did minimal to resolve this and the next cries and screams regularly until the early hours of the morning. - Hollow outer window sills create huge noise disturbance whilst its raining. - My fob went missing whilst concierge were looking after my keys, I was given a replacement and today it was purposely deactivated my a member of staff who should have communicated this to me prior. Denied access to every door whilst stood out in the rain. - The majority of the time there is no member of staff on the reception desk - Quite often they're smoking outside. - Regularly the doors are broken allowing strangers to access without a fob. I heard from a member of staff that a stranger was accessing vacant apartments and showering in them a few weeks ago!"
"Been a resident at The Slate Yard for nearly a year and couldn't recommend it more. Gym is brilliant, you feel so safe even in the middle of a busy city. My friends and I have loved it and wish we could stay longer but cannot due to moving out of the city. Would recommend to anyone looking for a central flat, Ems"
