"Good job done"
"The treatment, care and staff are all outstanding here. Having been a patient on many occasions for both serious and not so serious conditions over the years all the elements work pretty well most of the time. The pharmacy in particular is a major cause of complaint. Patients are often waiting hours to receive the medications they need to go home having been discharged in every other respect. I've spent five hours just sitting on a bed waiting for pharmacy to put my prescription together. This obviously means the bed isn't available for anyone else and this impacts all the way down the line to patients having to wait in ambulances. This is a serious bottleneck and needs addressing with more staff or a more efficient system. The other bugbear is the administration which is often confusing and contradictory. Information isn't passed on to the relevant people and conflicting messages are given to patients leaving them confused and concerned about quite what is happening. Treatment, care and the excellent staff are major plusses but other areas need work."
"This is a super busy hospital. To any end, the staff are composed in majority by young doctors, less than 30 years average - felt a bit uncomfortable not having more experienced professionals. The nurses are great, and very professional. It takes time to see a Doctor, and they change shifts very often - so maybe you'll say the same symptoms over, and over until it is time for you to receive treatment. There's a color code for the collaborators, green means something, dark green another something and so on. Doctors are the dark green if I am not wrong, and nurses are the blues - the crew will take note of all your treatment, and this will be secured in a dedicated folder, on which you'll not have access in the end. I was a bit unlock when using the hospital because by accident, all my blood samples were destroyed on the way to the lab - apparently the driver messed-up w/ it, what a shame."
"I was rushed in on Friday whilst delivering to Baileys. From the outset fantastic care was afforded to me by all the staff in A602 , especially Kareen from South Africa and her beloved (new kitten)and also Sym the nursing assistant.Had my op on Sunday , and am now recovering. Well done all at BRI. Fantastic"
"I spent five weeks in Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital before being transfered to Bristol for heart surgery and while I was in Taunton I spent much time telling them how much I was looking forward to going to Bristol because of their excellent quality of service. However, once I was here I was horrified. Sure the room is excellent and everyone is welcoming but - for example, I'm on a drip that runs for 30 minutes then has to be removed. No. Many times I've been stuck, attached to the drip for hours with no-one even attending after I press the call button. Medication at regular hours - no chance. The food is now actually poor - it looks and seems as if it's come straight out of the freezer, it's warmed and then shoved onto a plate. No finess - no trimmings, nothing. The support work is so poor in many cases - especially when I've asked for a VERY weak coffee. No chance - that's too confusing! I am sad, depressed and generally feel very let down. Here's hoping that the surgery remains good and that care in the ICU is better - a lot better. PS As Iwrite I'm still on a drip that should have been removed some 45 minutes ago."
