Initially known as the South Brisbane Public Hall and later as the Boggo Road Theatre, it was finally named The Princess Theatre in 1893. Throughout the years, The Princess Theatre has played multiple roles, serving as a vaudeville venue in the 1890s, a movie house in the 1910s, and a rehearsal center for the United States Entertainment Unit during World War II.
