Reviews of Alma de Tango School of Argentine Dances
"I have taken both beginner and intermediate/advanced level classes at the Alma de Tango tango school at Woolloongabba over the last few years and would highly recommend their classes. Hugo Fernandez and Shirley Yao have always built up the steps from basic to more complex in their classes in a way that made them easier to accomplish and they have shown a high degree of support when I had difficulty with any sequence of steps. The steps taught have been most enjoyable and stylish, good to have in my repertoire for social dancing. The strong emphasis on developing strength in fundamentals like the tango embrace and posture and neat footwork has particularly helped me. I have also had an excellent private lesson with Shirley Yao which assisted me in refining my tango technique. The evening practilonga at the end of Saturday classes gives students an opportunity to practice what they have learnt."
"Great team of high quality moral value people! Love their working standards and their professional approach to their art."
"Learning at Alma de Tango School is being magically transported to the heart of Buenos Aires. This School is only for those who are looking for the right place where they can find and and are able to appreciate the classic tango music, the charm and the intrinsic poetry of this dance."
"Good space for tango, great floor, mirrors, stretching bars and the most important: fantastic teachers! 100% recommended!"
"Best place to learn authentic Argentine Tango and folklore. Have been learning in this school for the last 10 years, enjoyed every moment. The context of the classes are well explained , also they use Pilates related exercises to teach the students about the awareness of the body and how to use the body to optimise the dance . Hugo is a true Argentine and very knowledge in Tango . Not only they teach Tango, they also have Saturdays practice after the classes . Also they organise monthly social dance which attracts a lot of local and overseas Tango lovers . Definitely recommend to join the School if you are keen on learning the authentic Argentine Tango."
