“I walked in for a walk-in septum piercing, and the woman working there (sorry, I forgot her name!) was so welcoming and friendly. After leading me into the piercing room, she told me that I lacked the soft tissue necessary to pierce my septum and gave me a thorough explanation of what would happen if we pierced my septum cartilage. I decided to get my nostrils pierced instead, which was fast and largely painless!”

“I've had two tattoos at Basement over the past year, one from the lovely Elphie (no longer works there) and one from Rosie two weeks ago :) was made to feel welcome and safe both times, everyone in the studio was so great and chatty, I felt super at ease. Both tattoos healed beautifully, will defs come back for more :)”

Max at the reception is full of joy, Ollie was incredibly understanding and willing to adjust things on the fly and work with me, and the whole shop gave a friendly vibe, full of laugh and banter. Cheryl beautifully reworked the original and then created a background setting. The result was amazing. She is a fine-art artist and that shows in the level of detail, shading and colour. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

“My daughter wanted a helix piercing so I started asking around and found most local places use a gun, which limits how far up the ear you can pierce safely. We got recommended to Lucy at Toxic as she does needle piercing and is very experienced, so we booked online and got a friendly, professional email confirmation with all the details. The place was easy to find with lots of free parking on local side streets. The studio was spotlessly clean and fresh with good Covid protocols and a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Lucy was great, she really put my daughter at ease and talked through everything with us both, the procedure itself was really quick and simple with no fuss. The cost was very reasonable and included the jewellery - just be aware they don't take card payments so it's cash only. Really happy with the result, thanks Lucy! We would definitely recommend this place. The tattoo artwork looked fab too!”

I made the mistake of assuming everyone had moved away from latex gloves so when I rocked up and mentioned my latex allergy they moved heaven and earth to get no latex gloves so I could still get my tattoo done. That alone is worth all the stars. Everybody was very friendly and welcoming. My artist, Will, was an absolute delight. He is ridiculously talented, gave me exactly what I wanted, and he made it an all around great experience. I cannot recommend this shop enough. They are professional, welcoming, and clearly care about their clients. I travelled down from Edinburgh to go here and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Train cancelations and all! “I was recently tattooed by Nina and I couldn't be happier with the result! I was a little fickle with my design but she was super patient and the end result is a dream. I'm a massive wuss when it comes to needles (literally a tattooist's worst nightmare) but she was again super patient with me and kept making sure I was comfortable and feeling okay. I managed to sit for 4+ hours and Nina was wonderful company. The end result is beautiful - I'm so in love with my new tattoo. It's better than I could ever have hoped! The studio itself has a really relaxing atmosphere and it's super clean and so lovely to sit in - easily the nicest studio I've ever been in. Kat the owner is so lovely too and made me feel super welcome. I recommend this studio to everyone I know!”

“Had the best experience at this studio. I was having a big piece done so was there for4 hours. Was over the moon with my tattoo from Rodger. So skilled and quick. Watched 2 other guys tattoo other clients and they all looked amazing. They all have there own style and wouldn't put someone with the wrong tattoo artist (which I witnessed). Lovely group of guys and great atmosphere. Rebooked to finish off my leg sleeve.”

“1000% recommend you should get work done here. Awesome does not do this justice in describing service and the artwork. Phenomenal design which looks just as amazing when I got it inked in. Great communication as enquiried and booked design online and when I arrived was Friendly atmosphere and welcoming.....apologies if I wasn't too chatty a customer as was at time zoning out as near top of the calf did hurt fair bit but totally worth it. The amount I paid....i think was a steal as its work of art of my leg now. The only trouble have now is on their instagram keeps pumping out new designs that I want and too many to choose from”
