Lifewell - Desert Cove

"The Maverick team at this location does not provide adequate treatment for SMI individuals. All accounts listed below are true. This is just a friendly warning. Maverick remains understaffed and overworked for over 3 years now. Every few days I’m assigned a new case manager, new faces appear often with little or no experience, and then they get promoted to fill in for many who quit, showing no effort to resolve this ongoing crisis. Consequently, they spend very little time and energy with each individual, or even maintain an updated ISP. In addition, Lifewell contracts with Veyo for transportation, who continually cancel my rides at the last second, and then I’m blamed for purposely missing appointments. They’ve adapted by lying to clients to cover up blatant negligence and SMI rights violations, such as ignoring my constant requests to refuse treatment there so I can choose another clinic. However, I know nothing about the quality of service by other teams in the building. If you choose Lifewell Desert Cove for your health, do not get assigned to the Maverick team. UPDATE: AHCCCS Fidelity Report lists the following shortcomings: Dated April 18, 2022 - [ ] Absence of Clinical Coordinator - [ ] 67% of team members leave their position - [ ] Lack of or absence of a Nurse - [ ] Complex SMI cases are transferred to another facility - [ ] Case managers spend up to 80% of their time meeting with clients in the community - [ ] Only three graduates during a 12 month period - [ ] Intensity of services per member measured only 19.63 minutes per week - [ ] Phone contact averaged three times per month (to remedy this, Lifewell briefly engaged in daily checkup calls with me that were more disruptive than helpful) - [ ] Less than 1.7 contacts with client family support per month - [ ] Substance abuse sessions lasting 30 minutes were limited to 2-3 times per month - [ ] Only two members regularly attend co-occurring Disorder Groups - [ ] Total score came to less than 80% of all services were available Two years later, Lifewell has not shown any improvement."

"I called and ask for a specific supervisor and the lady who answered said "Hmmm...." And the next thing I knew I was transferred to a VM! Rude!!! Y'all need to work on your customer service skills cause it's garbage. You're supposed to say " Sure can you please hold on one moment?" And wait for a response!!!!! Learn customer service skills then answer the phone!!!!"

"Called at 9am to schedule an appointment because I was referred here by a social worker. The Lady that answered the phone was rude and kept huffing through the phone. (I ended up just hanging up)I think her name was daphie or daphne. It was my first time having to schedule an appointment like this and it honestly felt awful. They need someone who is polite with newcomers. There are people who are trying to get help and we try to take the first step and it’s receptionist like her that make me not want to go through with it."

"I haven't yet been to the clinic in person however trying to get an intake or get to the right person was like pulling teeth. Whomever answers the phone at times are extremely rude and unprofessional and I'm looking into trying to find another clinic already, I also plan on filing more then a few complaints with the board and with my insurance carrier. I can promise you that someone will be held accountable when i'm finished."

"Absolute garbage. They don't tell you when they switch you to different teams or case managers, they never get you back for your appointment on time, and they're always so freaking rude! Get better staff to help these people and certainly give a damn about your patients"
