The Titan Missile Museum, located at 1580 West Duval Mine Road in Green Valley, Arizona, is a unique tourist attraction that offers a glimpse into the history of the Cold War era. This museum is the last of the 54 Titan II missile sites that were on alert across the United States from 1963 to 1987. Visitors can explore the underground silo and walk in the footsteps of the crews who served at this historic missile site. The museum offers both guided and self-guided tours, allowing guests to learn about the construction, operation, and deactivation of America's largest nuclear weapon.
Arizona Falls
Arizona Falls is a unique institution located at 5802 East Indian School Road in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. This 20-foot drop along the Arizona Canal between 56th and 58th streets serves as both a neighborhood attraction and a hydroelectric plant. Visitors can explore the intersection of technology, artistry, and natural wonder as they venture across a pedestrian footbridge towards the viewing platform. Here, amidst the flowing water, historic gears and hydroelectric equipment can be seen. The project at Arizona Falls is part of a larger initiative along the Valley’s canals, with over 80 miles of paved paths developed by cities in collaboration with SRP. The site also features the Phoenix Art Commission’s “WaterWorks at Arizona Falls” project, designed by renowned Boston artists Lajos Héder and Mags Harries, which highlights the history of the landmark.
