Hughston Clinic - Michael E. Davis, M.D.

"I don’t normally write reviews. However, I feel compelled to write about my first and last office visit to see Dr Davis. My appointment was at 10:45 am on 1/3/24. I have 2,big complaints. The first complaint is that there was no heat in the patient waiting room. It was a very cold day with highs in the mid 40’s. Every time the door opened a blast of cold air came in. I was warmly dressed but was miserable. After about 45 minutes I ran out to my car to retrieve the blanket I keep there. The woman sitting across from me said she wished she had a blanket. I went to the front desk and said how cold it was. The woman said with a smile, “It is, isn’t it? I thought I turned up the thermostat.” I thought it would get better. But, it never did. My second complaint is concerning my wait time. About 1 1/2 hours in the waiting area, I heard a patient at the front desk tell the staff that he had been waiting 3 hours. Right as he was doing this, his name was called to go back to the exam area. I said to myself no way will I wait 3 hours!!! So, 2 hours after my appointment time, I went to the front desk and told the woman how long I had been waiting. I asked her if this happened all the time. She nodded yes. I said that I was leaving and would never be back and that I better not be charged a $25 no show fee. She said I wouldn’t. I see from the numerous 1 star reviews that Dr Davis habitually makes patients wait for hours. His office response to these complaints is that steps are being taken to improve. This obviously is not true. I would like to conclude by saying that Dr Davis is not the only orthopedist in town."

"Dr. Davis is a great Doctor, he is listening to the problems and you feel never rushed. I had back surgery in 2022 S1-L3 fusions and I have no problems with it. His nurse Christy and the other staff is also wonderful. I will always recommend him and his team. Because he takes time with patients sometimes the wait times are long but i don’t mind to wait, to know I am in good hands. Today my wait time was only 20 min."

"I had a very positive experience all the way around! The staff, nurses and x-ray technicians were great. (Very personable) No wait time at all. Dr. Davis was very easy to talk to and spent time with me. He explained my problem thoroughly and I left understanding my issue. I definitely recommend Dr. Davis."

"Dr. Davis is great!! He took time with us - he didn’t rush. He took the time to go over what was wrong and talk about a treatment plan. He was very knowledgeable and personable. We liked him a lot and highly recommend Dr. Davis and the Hughston Clinic!"

He's pleasant, asks the right questions, listens to his patient, and gives answers that are pertinent and helpful. He also gives instructions for maintaining the progress we've made, and what to do if there is a problem."
