"Anybody that thinks the Government is good at anything should be required to be a patient at the VA. The Department of Veteran Affairs is the epitome of everything wrong with bureaucracy. The funniest part is their on-hold speech talks about 20 veteran suicides a day with 6 of those being recent users of the VA Services. Oh the irony."

"I’m experiencing a really rough time right now and the VA hasn’t done anything to help me. Basically I’m 100% service connected, and I built a house several years ago but over the past few years I’ve had plumbing issues with the Pex pipes that were installed in my house. Well my house flooded 4 times and recently USAA terminated my insurance coverage, mind you I’ve been with USAA since 1999 never missed a payment nor late and they dropped me. Then the dreaded VA social workers and homeless veterans coordinator only options provided to me were VA homeless shelter or a VA rehab facility for treatment and they don’t help veterans before they are put out on streets, they wait until you’re evicted and roaming the streets and eventually get picked up by law enforcement officers for loitering, and now you’ve got a criminal record thanks to the VA not stepping in before the problem/problems got out of hand. So no one offered any advice or guidance on any services or financial assistance that the VA could possibly provide. I’m in an active chapter 13 bankruptcy so no one will rent to me until I get my debt repaid and then get a discharge letter from bankruptcy attorney. So August 1st moved out of my house and I’m selling it but basically became homeless because I can’t afford to keep fixing the plumbing issues that cost into the thousands for repairs. If people did care enough and actually did their jobs, then veterans wouldn’t have as many problems and they’d feel comfortable and confident that the VA would do anything within their power and authority to assist us veterans but unfortunately that’s not the case, 95% of VA employees are just there for the direct deposit paycheck and basically stealing money because they damn sure didn’t/don’t work for it. From the top of the chain of command to the lowest wage worker, they’re just there to collect a paycheck and they goals are to disregard, disrespect the veterans who’ve sacrificed their lives and their families for the sake and benefit of this ungrateful nation. Oh, and don’t ever get upset with a VA provider, they’ll quickly call Top Flight Security to handcuff you and rush you off to Tuskegee looney bin for an “adult cooldown period,” “you’re going to ADULT TIMEOUT, go sit in a corner and keep your hands to yourself. So in a nutshell you’re alone without the support you need for your physical and mental health needs, so many of us go on to suffer in silence, get discouraged give up and many die from unnecessary suffering and lack of support. I’ve learned don’t EVER depend upon the government or VA for help, you better have the finances to get you out of whatever life throws your in your path because the Department of Veterans Affairs definitely isn’t going to help you only ask you about alcohol consumption, cigarette smoking and street drug abuse/addiction. No matter what the situation is, VA providers only concern is alcoholism or street drug dependence and maybe prescription drug abuse and that’s it nothing else is important or relevant to VA providers in the state of Alabama. I’ve made numerous complaints but nothing has changed for the better so I now realize that it’ll never get better until changes occur from the top and work their way down to the lower janitors. But that’ll never happen. The pins that they wear saying “We Care” are a bold face LIE straight from the pits of HELL. Don’t be deceived by the devil’s lies. The VA is satan himself here on earth trying to destroy every veteran who gets treated by VA providers. They want us to die early so they can stop compensating us for life. Think about that and let that sink in for a moment…. You pay someone $4,000+ a month for the veteran entire life, why wouldn’t they give us treatment/treatments to end life early…. Or they hope that the veteran commits suicide so all pay and compensation benefits end early and abruptly. The world needs to wake up and realize the problems veterans face when they interact with the Department of Veterans Affairs, regardless of our rank when we retired or separated from the US military."

"Calling the pharmacy is a nightmare. The first time I waited 18+ minutes only for the phone to dial and then immediately hang up. The second time I called and actually got to speak to a person and as I started talking the phone hung up. I am 100% certain the pharmacy representatives are both making you wait to force you to hang up or immediately answering and then hanging up. Just very very very sorry representatives across the entire agency in montgomery."

"Great experience at the Montgomery VA hospital. Initially I was having an issue getting through on the phone but when I figured that out each person I spoke to was very helpful. Prior to my appointment I made a dry run to find the audiology clinic. While walking the halls I was stopped twice and asked if I needed directions. For my appointment I was seen on time and received excellent care. I’m looking forward to future visits and the care that I will receive. My visit to the audiology clinic was a huge success. Thank you! Finding a parking spot is a challenge."
