“We attended a fundraising night here and it was a fantastic. The bar staff (most notably Mark) were fantastic and it almost seemed they went above and beyond to provide a high level of service. The menu was set to about 5-6 options because of our fundraising event, I ended up ordering a simple beef snitty, I must say it was one of the best snittys I have had in years, the meat was so tender and the crumb was perfect. This was a memorable night and we will most definitely be back for another meal and top notch service. Thankyou to all the Staff any Payneham Tavern. :)”

“A really charming little inn. I love the fireplaces, wooden furniture and beer mugs. The pretzels and apple strudel were delectable. Do yourself a favour and go here next time you are in Hahndorf!”

“The decor in this lounge is fresh and inviting. Not over the top with glamour but airy and inviting. Nicer than the Virgin lounges in Melbourne and Perth for sure. Main downside is the size. The lounge is not very large and it was fully occupied when I was there. It could also do with more phone and computer charging points.”

“If you like Indian then this is a great place to go in Hahndorf. We had the restaurant to ourselves as they have only recently opened for lunch. The Chefs signature dish is the goat curry and I highly recommend it. It's served on a platter including rice and naan. It was a perfect size for two to share and absolutely delicious!”

“Accomodation only: booked this as a cheap and cheerful option for one night. Check in was quick and when I asked about breakfast recommendations was greeted by a lot of wonderful suggestions. The room was old world charm, small but adequate for one. Bed was comfortable and shower was hot. Being above pub and on street some traffic noise as to be expected but mid week during holidays not much noise from downstairs (more noise from adjoining rooms). Easy walking distance to Main Street shops and cafes. Loads of parking, bus stop out front. Good base to explore the hills.”

“Top rate venue, Security friendly but not overfamiliar, Barstaff were all smiles and happiness, DJ played some decent stuff and mixed it up a bit, lots of 'the beautiful people' and a vibe to be admired....a real surprise packet 4-5 Star establishment and certainly holds its own with any other venue along Leigh Street ...certainly worth a visit”
