"While my experience with this practice is very limited, I am extremely disappointed in the care, or lack thereof, that I received. I booked with Dr. Stephens as one of my own patients sees him for her EDS and POTS and his bio on his page says that he specializes in acute and chronic conditions. I booked this appointment on July 3rd, 2024 for August 23rd, 2024. I was perfectly fine to wait, as with most EDS doctors it can take forever to get in places. Come to my appointment day, a lady from the office called me 30 minutes before my appointment and left me a voicemail to tell me it's canceled because Dr. Stephens is no longer accepting EDS patients. I had already taken off early and was on my way there. They also knew I had planned on still coming as I had confirmed online. I called the office for clarification, got told the same thing, and was asked if I wanted to schedule with another doctor at their practice. I was also informed none of the other providers work with EDS, so I don't know how she expected that to be helpful, as I have EDS. Not only do I think this was extremely unprofessional given that at the worst they could have called me early morning when they saw I was on the schedule if they didn't have a chance to check charts the day prior, as I had this booked over a month on advance, but also just negligent as they should have viewed the charts beforehand. Also as a provider who treats, or treated I guess, EDS patients, the team or at least Dr. Stephens should understand the importance of time in an EDS patient's life. There are so little resources for us and it takes months, if not years, to get in to see someone to help us, and they just wasted a month and a half of precious time. I have never been so excited about a doctor's appointment. From all the research I did, Dr. Stephens seemed like a perfect provider for me, but unfortunately, this is the experience I had. It was quite devastating and now I have to start all over again after looking for someone for a year. Edit: I reached out over a week ago via the email they provided, and no one has followed up. Thanks for wasting more of my time."
