Under the expert leadership of Dr. Matthew R. Atkinson, a highly qualified and board-certified specialist in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, we offer comprehensive medical services tailored to meet your needs. Dr. Atkinson brings a wealth of experience and advanced training, having graduated from the prestigious University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and served as Chief Resident at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH. Further honing his expertise, Dr. Atkinson pursued a Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati, followed by an Advanced Fellowship at Case Western, specializing in ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and disorders of the pancreas and biliary system.

"While the majority of the staff were friendly, the environment is very overwhelming. When you go to have a procedure scheduled anticipate going into a very busy, loud, bright and chaotic area. It feels more like a production line than a medical facility. Also you cannot have someone wait in the pre-op area with you. I was NOT prepared for that and having some anxiety about the procedure itself made all of this more difficult, especially since I've been with others at other facilities and it was very opposite of this. At a point in time when I was getting the IV I felt very much like a number with a lack of attention to my needs just a status quo approach that didn't work out well. The nurse told me anesthesia would come over and give me something to help me relax a bit more but that never happened. Also the care team changes at least a few different times. Different nurses before, during and after which just made it feel ever more like a production line."
