"Dr.altenau is very profesional, informative, cares about his patients health, and is very knowledgeable. His patients are puzzles for him and it's one of the reasons he enjoys his job . last sentence is my personal opinion. Being professional is not always good he is most definitely a medical professional. Sounds great right no it's not. Dr. Altenau likes to use alternative medicine 2 fix your problems even though they may not be the best solution. Call it what you want the best way I can say it is half ass Solutions for your problems. Don't get me wrong he's a great guy and for some people he would be a great doctor for others people like me he wasn't and isn't. I don't like to be somebody's play toy somebody's Lab Rats so to speak. The biggest problem is his unwillingness to prescribe a narcotic and it's crazy cuz not all narcotics or bad. So here's my story as a kid I was diagnosed with ADD my senior year I got off of it cuz I don't want to be on it for the rest of my life and I found ways to manage symptoms of my ADD it's something I'm going to have to live with for the rest of my life after a year-and-a-half of not being on the medicine I ended up going into the military in the military ended up diagnosing me with ADD as well so when I got out of the military came home was trying to live the life without the medicine and through the military I learned to manage some more my ADD symptoms but the one problem I absolutely have and it's with a lot of people with ADD is a problem focusing paying attention impulse control so much more I asked if I could get back on my medicine and dr. Altanue has not put me back on it end made me jump through hoops in trials and tribulations trial and error basically where they how you want to coat it it's simple he was trying to prove that depression anxiety lack of sleep was the cause of my ADD not the add is the cause of my ADD eventually after a long while he saw that I did have at least some ADD symptoms and I thought he surely going to put me back on Concerta and you know my life will get back to you at least a normal level I was sadly mistaken he decides to use alternative medicine AKA half to a Solutions. Now the problem with alternative medicine is it's expensive unless you have some amazing insurance and if you have amazing Insurance you know it and if you're in the middle class or lower I'm pretty sure you don't have amazing insurance so the problem is the insurance will not cover this alternative medicine so you either have to pay it out of pocket or go without if you are lucky and you have decent insurance and it does cover the alternative medicine still going to cost you an arm and a leg and it's a half a solution don't believe me try it I believe you'll see this post in a new light. And I know plenty of other examples it's not just my personal story my whole entire family goes to rudemillerfamily Medicine and sees doctor Altenau when my dad had bronchitis he wouldn't prescribe my dad a cough syrup that was a narcotic and it was cuz it had a heavy cough suppressant my dad has a history of lung problems on top of that coughing a lot is a huge problem for him he wouldn't prescribe him any not only that my stepmother got the same thing for my dad and wouldn't prescribe it either it's clearly if you look at just my parents and mine previous history there is an issue with prescribing narcotics. I know some of this may sound very negative but for a lot of people surprisingly they don't mind a halfed a solution .. and by no means am I saying this doc is bad because he's not he's a great guy great father and great doctor in his own right and I'm just leaving this review so people know. Me personally I think if you don't like half Solutions or being treated like a guinea pig lab rat don't see him. ..If you want a doctor that's concerned about your health and I'm not just talking about concerned I mean super concerned and you're okay with trying alternative medicines even though they may not be the best solution but they may be healthier for you this is the doctor for you!!"
