Budget Truck Rental

"If there was a zero star, I would choose it. I showed up to rent a truck to move my daughter and when I arrived at 8:30, I was told the license plate on the truck didn’t match and I would have to wait until 11:00 to get my truck. Meanwhile, I have people at my house waiting to move. Unreal. Seems like a very inept operation."

"June 17, 2024 From the start, I couldn't hear the service guy because of the loud music, and he's rude about it because I couldn't hear him over the music. Impatient and he looks as if he has no idea how to rent out a truck Made an online reservation, and he's going back and forth to the shop. I'm still waiting for the first answer if I'm getting a truck."

"If you are thinking of going here, DON’T!! Just save yourself the headache and go to U Haul. We were sent here from a Budget Inventory Specialist when another location was closed. We were promised a vehicle and drove an hour out of our way. We showed up and gentleman told us he just gave away the truck. No explanation. We were asking if he had anything else and he told us to leave his store and he didn’t want to hear how we were sent from their corporate office. Locked us out because he is terrible at customer service! U-Haul might have cost us more but professional and courteous."

"The Budget Truck Rental at Reading Rd in Sharonville Ohio DOES NOT HONORS YOUR ONLINE RESERVATION and has no concept of breaching contract. We need to move some furnitures from our old place in Cincinnati to a place near Chicago. We made a reservation of small truck from Budget online a week in advance and select this Sharonvill station to pick the truck. We arranged workers to load and unload the furniture at specified hours. We came down to Cincinnati and stayed in a hotel the night before. However, when we went the station to pick up our reserved truck at the specified hour( 8 am on April 15, 2023), we were told there was no truck for us. I saw 3 small tucks and 3 vans on the lot and asked if we can jut take one of them. The black girl working there said those were reserved for Amazon and there is nothing she can do about our reservation. I understand that Amazon is big customer but It just simply wrong for Budget to breach “ contract” with little customer in order to honor big customer reservation. We talked Budget customer service over the phone. The lady offer a bigger truck available 50 miles away. We do not have time for that and we are not comfortable to drive bigger truck. I told the lady that I recorded the conversation and take photos of the available trucks on the lot. She accused us of declining her offer and just hang up the phone. It cost us about $2000 for loss of wage, hired labor and expense. What should we do? Any help will be greatly appreciated for little guys like us to fight this UNFAIR PRACTICE by BUDGET"

"Save yourself a big headache, my experience and 2 other customer's complaints are summarized here. 1. When I arrived on time to pick up the van I had reserved online, there was no key for it; I was asked whether I could come back later (?) and then when I pressed, I was offered a 12 ft. box truck instead that a woman had just returned. While that box truck was being inspected, the woman warned me "prepare for a very bumpy ride" and added that the insurance for the box truck would be ridiculous. While I waited for the customer service person to return, I heard two other returning customers complaints. One who had received a van that was very full of dog hair, and another who said that the van they rented looked like someone had been living out of it for days - it was full of garbage, dirty clothes and children's toys. After waiting 15 minutes for the representatives to process these 3 vehicles, I decided to go up the street to UHaul. For $10 more - fully insured, I had my choice of either a cargo van or a pick up truck. All of which were impeccably clean, and the customer service couldn't have been better. Updated: the next day I had a $75 dollar charge from Budget. Fortunately, my credit card flagged it as suspicious, and I reported it as fraud. Capital One fraud department called me, and after some explanation, she understood the situation, and offered to call Budget together. Long story short, the Budget corporate representative tried to challenge me that I had not cancelled the reservation. The fraud agent indicated that I had verbally cancelled, and that I had never signed a contract. In the end, the Budget representative provided a refund that would be in my account in 3-5 days. After this call ended, the Capital One agent said that she's practically become a specialist in Budget Rental fraud, and she sees situations like this and worse every day.
