"$6 to park and they don't accept the annual national park pass even though this is a national park. Annoying. A nice short walk to the trails, beach, and bathhouse though."
"We paid $6 to park for the day in the West Beach parking lot. There is very good, close access to the trails from this lot. It is a bit of a walk to the actual beach which wasn't bad for us but seemed a little long for people we saw that were carrying large coolers and other picnic or cookout items."
"This is a beautiful sand dune area with a great beach on Lake Michigan, smaller lakes to explore inland, numerous nature trails and a dune succession trail, and spectacular stairs. If you'd like to venture away from the Chicago beaches, but don't want to travel the distance of Michigan, I highly suggest you try West Beach."
"Plenty of room every time we have come and always clean. The lot is set up well: no matter where you park, you do not end up walking a whole lot farther than if you are in the first side- closer to the west beach. Even though the beach was crowded we found a nice spot."
