"Very peaceful spot for fishing, photography, and picnics."
"Great spot along the river. Made a great friend here one day. Mason, love you, brother. The Old Mauricetown bridge (preserved remnant) is fantastic. It uses "Phoenix columns" patented by the Phoenix Iron Works of Philadelphia. These in particular are the four panel variety. Flanged panels are riveted together to create a very strong but light beam. I've included a close up photo. This bridge was an amazing type of rotating semi-turret center section variety, where the center section was turned by three or four men using a massive "key". Boats could pass once the section was spun 90 degrees off centerline. Unfortunately the bridge was struck by two boats, one with a barge, I believe, and was never repaired. Still a wonderful bit of history. I'm glad the town kept the remnant."
"It's beautiful. I grew up here. But, I'm a little disappointed at how long it's taking to repair the damage to the bulkhead. It's dangerous, and it's not going to get better as time goes by. It's just getting worse. Commercial Township...you can do better than this."
