"Trail looks like it gets overgrown pretty quickly in the summer. I did watch two ants carry a spider carcus for a good 5 minutes so that was pretty cool. Heard a lot of birds and geese in the pond. Will come back in the fall to check it out."

"Despite widely-published information, the hiking trail here is neither "easy" nor "complete." It's a quarter-mile down a 30-degree grade into a debris-choked clearing, where the trail apparently ends. Then it's back the same way, except it's even steeper on the way up."

"If you like a more natural experience in the woods and next to the Meramec, this place might be for you. Watch for falling tree limbs, though. There's a boat ramp and plenty of spots to fish from the banks. Some work is being done to clear and level some areas so there might be some exciting developments on the way. There's a lot of potential here."
