"My daughter and I went to the Beach on Lake Lincoln to watch the 2024 solar eclipse. Cuivre River was a beautiful and relaxing place to watch this incredible event. I deducted a star because I had a difficult time finding a place to wade in due to Mother Nature’s debris along the beach and the grassy texture to the bottom of the lake. I personally don’t like swimming when it feels like the grass is wrapping around my feet and legs. I don’t guess that can be helped but that is something I would want to know before I made plans to go swimming there. There is also a trailhead to a hiking trail that you can reach from the parking lot. I was told that it goes around at least part of the lake. It looked like it would be a great hike."

"Beautiful scenery, beautiful weather when we went and loved the hiking trail around the lake. The only thing I didn't care for was the fact that the trail width around the lake was quite small. Meaning that I couldn't be next to hubby or children. We were in a line formation. I prefer trails where people can pass easily(we are slower and like to enjoy the view and nature that surrounds us)or we can be next to one another. It's just a preference thing. I'd still go back. It was a good little work out."

"Nice little spot to get wet! They put sand down in the middle section which makes it really nice to wade into, but when it runs out the bottom is very silty and mushy feeling. Small latrine style bathrooms in case you really got to go. Drive past the parking spaces on the hill, there's a lot at the bottom."
