At The City of Roanoke Street Department, we are committed to maintaining the beauty and functionality of our city's infrastructure. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure that our streets, bridges, and other public amenities are in top condition for the benefit of all residents.
Curbside Pick-Up Service
We offer a convenient curbside pick-up service for construction and demolition materials, available for a small fee. Homeowners must schedule this service by contacting City Hall at 334-863-4129. Please note, there is a $10 fee for each truck bed and a $15 fee for each pull-behind trailer. Kindly remember, NO HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE is allowed.
Convenience Center
For your disposal needs, our convenience center, located at the National Guard Armory Building, is open to Roanoke citizens. Here, you can dispose of acceptable items such as appliances (excluding those containing Freon), wood, metal, furniture, drywall, and paint cans (with the top off and inside dry). Unacceptable items include air conditioners, freezers, refrigerators, televisions, or other electronics. The center operates on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM. Please call 334-863-4129 to schedule a dump, with fees of $10 per truck load and $15 per trailer load.
Free Services
The City will continue to pick up trees, limbs, and shrubs at no cost to residents.
Important Changes
As of March 1, 2023, we have implemented changes to our collection services due to increased fuel, labor, and equipment costs. These changes are designed to help us maintain and improve our city's infrastructure effectively. Please be aware that leaving construction materials on the curb without scheduling a pick-up will result in fines.
