"Great community atmosphere . If you're looking for faith-based alternatives to scouting. Calvary has Trail Life and American Heritage Girls programs available for ages 5 and up. These are more faith-based leadership development programs with an emphasis on the "Servant Leader" model. Calvary also offers emergency food pantry services to the community. This is one of the Calvary churches that has stayed true to Chuck Smiths vision. Hope you come check it out."
"I love this church. The messages are straight from the bible, the fellowship is nice, they have children's classes and a youth group, and there are bible study classes available for both men and women. From the first time that I walked through the door iwas welcomed with open arms. The Pastor is always available to answer my questions or to help. I appreciate his hospitality and warm heart."
"(I attended before they relocated to their new building.) Nice, sincere people. But when I attended, a lot of sermon time was given over to obtaining the new building and singing hymns. I would hear very little Scripture. Two or three Verses does not a Sermon make. Around that time, I tried to ask one of the pastors about the procedure to help a friend with travel expenses back to Oxnard. Before I could even finish my question, he interrupted me and curtly said, "We don't do that." I thought that most churches have a discretionary fund; maybe this one was too financially tied up with their new building to spare $50 or so."
