"18 months after Ian people are returning and bringing the old vibe back. The buildings will be a while longer but sunset and the beach vibe are back in form. Food and drink options keep growing and recovery is going strong."
"Couldn't find an allotted space for our bicycles. Since the hurricane happened two years ago, I was surprised that so little had been restored/accomplished in that time. It felt as tho the storm had only JUST passed thru. This is a tourist destination, and perhaps for the sake of a stronger local economy, the city should be doing everything in their power to rebuild what, right now, looks like a wasted opportunity tapping into an amazing resource-- TOURISM!"
"Don't miss the Friday morning Farmers Market. 9am-1pm. Huge variety of shopping and food choices. Ample parking in 3 lots surrounding Times Square. Easy walking and biking distance from nearby hotels. Bike racks all over. Beach is gorgeous. Very nice portolets in Lynn Hall Park."
"I stopped by Fort Myers Beach/Times Square to catch the sunset. It was great to see restaurants open and a lot of people at the beach. The city was hit so hard by Ian and there is still a sobering feeling but it’s good to see the progress."
