About the Business

Levy County Quilt Museum

Welcome to the Levy County Quilt Museum, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Florida at 11050 Northwest 10 Avenue, Chiefland, FL 32626. As the first Quilt Museum in the state, we proudly showcase a rich tapestry of history and craftsmanship. Situated a mile off Highway Alt 27 on CR134, between Chiefland and Bronson, our museum is a delightful detour worth taking.

Step inside to discover a captivating collection of quilts, each telling its own unique story. From hand-quilted masterpieces to intricately machine-quilted and hand-tied creations, there is something for everyone. All our quilts and craft items are lovingly crafted by local artisans, reflecting the vibrant heritage of our community. These beautiful pieces are available for purchase, with payment by cash or check.

Our museum is a labor of love, supported by generous donations from friends and community members. As a not-for-profit organization, we are dedicated to preserving and celebrating the art of quilting. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about our history and the treasures housed within our walls. Admission is free, and we offer ample parking for your convenience.

Don't miss the chance to see "Mother Earth and Her Children" by Sieglinde Schoen Smith, awarded Best of Show at the 2006 International Quilt Show in Houston. We look forward to welcoming you to the Levy County Quilt Museum, where history, art, and community come together in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

"Wonderful place to view vintage quilts, singer sewing machines and others. Vintage dolls and handmade smaller items. They have quilts for sale from $15.00 to a couple hundred, all beautiful. One of my favorite things was the variety of fabric patterns and colors. They had remnants, squares and fat quarters that you buy in singles starting at $.25. I like this because I can choose my own color palette. There were two lovely ladies there to answer questions. This was a free outing. Will be my new play for fabric."

"Absolutely adorable place to visit. Would highly recommend stopping in. Even if it's just to browse, it's worth it. So much to see! The only downside, they don't take credit/debit cards. Cash or check only. Either way, worth it!"
