"I took my mother to see this doctor today. He was very rude and condescending and spoke down to my elderly mother. As part of the reason we were there to visit she has a hard time Articulating everything that is wrong with her. He cut her off and explained to her why he needed to know her history. She was trying to explain it had he had the patience to actually listen to her instead of being rude and cut her off. I understand this man is a professor and maybe that is how he speaks to his students, but it is not OK to speak that way to patients or my elderly mother. I would travel an extra 30 minutes to avoid having another appointment with this man. Very disrespectful and rude."

"Been trying to get in for months and have had my emg rescheduled 3 times because they keep rescheduling for work days and then the next available they have is a month out. This is a routine now with them rescheduling. Definitely looking elsewhere to get help. It shouldn't take 4 months to do a simple test."
"In dealing with my wife, Dr Basaam was arrogant, overbearing with the bedside manners of a goat. He DID NOT LISTEN to what his patient is telling him and did not look over patient records in advance even though they were sent 2-3 weeks prior. After two visits he still had no clue what was wrong."
"My 10 month old son was having some asymmetry/right side facial weakness so we were referred to Dr. Bassam. We arrived early but waited no longer than 10 minutes after his appointment time to be brought to a room. Dr. Bassam was very calm and spoke kindly and positively to him. Being 10 months old, he was curious at first about his test and Dr. Bassam let him explore wires until he was satisfied. During the test, my son became scared and Dr. Bassam worked very quickly, found a stopping point to give him a break, and resumed the test when he calmed. He was very thorough in explaining the results and even held my son and let him look at the computer to explain the results to him - which my son found VERY fascinating! He had a great "bedside manner", explained things simply enough for us to understand without assuming we were clueless, and the entire visit was around 35 minutes. I would definitely recommend him!"
