Alamo Rent A Car

"Let me start by saying we love Alamo Rental Car. We travel frequently and they are our "go to" car rental company. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the service is quick and easy, both pick up and drop off. When able, we use the bypass the counter and are greeted by a friendly attendant in the parking lot. We have been pleased with our vehicle until this past rental. We booked our vehicle through a promo with Allegiant Airline and chose Alamo as our rental vehicle. We had 7 people and were told that a premium crossover would work. We were told that the vehicle would seat 7 plus 3 bags. When we arrived around midnight on July 11th, we were given a Toyota Forerunner. At this point, we had 5 people and 4 bags. So, a premium crossover should have worked (7 people, 3 bags). It did work, but barely. Had we had our 7 people, this would not have worked. The third row seating that allows for the additional people takes up the entire trunk area for the bags. We crowded the bags and the people into the vehicle, bags between the driver/passenger seat, bags in the back next to one person and a bag in between the middle row. It was cramped, but we made due for our hour+ trip from St. Pete to Orlando. Our additional people arrived the following day and we were able to cram 7 people into the vehicle - my two sons both 6 feet tall took one for the team and made the regular climb over seats to get to the very cramped area called the third row seats. Anything we purchased (groceries, etc) were crammed between people to get back to the resort. This is a word of caution -- a premium crossover does NOT seat 7 and 3 bags. It could do seat 5 and 3 bags or seat 7 with no bags. The description is misleading and had we had our full 7 people at the airport that first night we simply would not have fit. And, I asked repeatedly about the size of the vehicle -- it seats 7 right? With bags, right? and I was told at every step -- booking to grabbing the vehicle in the parking lot and was told each time. Yes. It simply does not."

"We rent from Alamo about 3 times a year from this location. The rental always goes smoothly. We did have a little bit of a delay this last time waiting for our car, but the car ended up only having a few hundred miles on it when we got it so it was worth the wait."

"I WOULD NEVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. We received our rental from MCO drove a short distance to Disney, the next time we went to get in the car it would not start. They sent someone to jump the car after hours of waiting- the air did not work after the jump. Alamo said it is our fault- WHAT?!? They gave us a broken car to start with then blame us and charge us for things we did not sign for or agree too. Horrible experience. Then they had us drive an hour to exchange the car!!!!!! Oh, and in the mean time we missed reservations at Disney, drove with no AC (dangerous for my small kids), and were late for an event in the evening. 0/5 stars."

"Rented a car through Alamo at PIE Airport. Concerned since our flight was getting in so late I may have an issue with getting a car. Absolutely no issue whatsoever getting a car. The gentleman at the counter was extremely nice. I got to choose what car I wanted in those available on the lot, with a free upgrade. That has never happened before. Returning the car was just as easy as picking one up. No problems at all! Gentlemen out on the lot were very nice! It was a far long walk to the departures. Would have been nice to have been closer. I don’t have any issues with the car. Drove very nice! I would definitely recommend Alamo at this particular location. Everything was outstanding!"

"Alamo was a pleasure to work with. All processes were dealt with efficiently. I had a change with adding an additional driver and they handled it very quickly and professionally. I don't know the names of all of the staff except for Andrew who checked me in when I returned the car and even took my suitcase out of the trunk for me. I was very pleased with all of their service and they will be my "go to" company."
