"Let me tell you about my amazing realtor Kate Despins of Coldwell Banker Sexton. I had been living at my home for what one may think is a brief moment in time, six years. In those six years at the beach, which was within walking distance to everything, my parents also bought a place right next-door to me. The memories and attachments that built up inside my home, are priceless. My mother and I spent every day together, walking the beach, I put up a gazebo for her, which we soon nicknamed Momma’s beer tent. My mother, my best friend, was diagnosed with colon cancer in February 2022 and passed away in November 2023. Being able to spend so much time with my mother in a place she loved is magical and I’m so blessed to been afforded that opportunity. The decision to sell my home was a very hard one, probably one of the hardest decisions of my life. A home is not just four walls with a roof over it. I contacted my dear friend Kate to help me with the sale of my home. My mother had picked out many of the paint colors, more specifically a wallpaper backsplash with seashells, and a lighthouse mural. I was not mentally able to take these things down to appease other buyers in case it may not be something that they liked. Kate was very empathetic and very compassionate to my frail Mental state of mind when it concerned my mother and the sale of our spot. She not only listened to everything I had to say but she heard everything I said. She checked in on me, all while doing all of the facets of her profession. Her professionalism and dedication to not only get my house sold, but to find the right family for it is also priceless. I couldn’t have done this without her. She was my sounding board when I was having a rough day. This all happened so fast, and we had an offer the very first day of showing. To say it was an emotional roller coaster is definitely an understatement. She coached me through all the pros and cons and told me to keep the faith. We had multiple offers, and together we decided on the best new family for my home. To say that Kate and Coldwell Banker Sexton was a Godsend, is an understatement. Kate is extremely knowledgeable in her field and loves doing what she does! You can tell it’s not a job to her, like we’ve all been told, love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life. Kates love and compassion for her field is definitely apparent in everything that she does. She goes way above and beyond the call of duty And will fight tooth and nail for you! Coldwell is blessed to have her and Kate is definitely blessed to be with a company that helps promote such values! I Know that when my father is ready to sell, she will be right there guiding him the same way she guided me. There are many emotions that go along with buying and selling a home. I only wish I could have brought her to Florida with me to help me with my transaction down here."
