Welcome to The Hedges, a charming lodging institution located at 180 Sanford Avenue in Clinton, New York, United States. Known for its exceptional hospitality, beautiful gardens, and prime location, The Hedges is one of the oldest running inns in the Village of Clinton, near Hamilton College. For over 25 years, we have been offering accommodation in four English Country Suites, each tastefully decorated with period antiques, eclectic style, and original works of art.
Our guests can enjoy the peaceful and quiet surroundings of our bucolic side street setting, as well as the formal gardens and patio where they can relax with a glass of tea. The suites feature separate entrances and full kitchens, providing a comfortable and luxurious stay. French doors in some suites open directly to the formal gardens, offering tranquil views.
In addition to the cozy accommodations, The Hedges is conveniently located near Hamilton College, Colgate University, and Utica College, as well as cultural attractions such as the Munson Williams Proctor Art Institute and the Stanley Performing Arts Center. Nearby golf courses and the Turning Stone Casino provide additional entertainment options.

"I stayed here last week with my friend. We loved it. Barb, our hostess was very warm and welcoming. It was like staying with an old friend. We stayed on the first floor in a huge mini- apartment with bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Spotlessly clean. The grounds are beautiful and in warm weather it would be lovely to sit outside. We would definitely book The Hedges again."

"The Hedges was absolutely beautiful in every way. Loved how bright, charming, and clean the suite was, and there were lovely common spaces for my family to sit together inside and out in the garden. Hospitality was so warm, and Barbara was happy to help us learn about the Hamilton area and answer any questions we had. She's a great and healthy cook too, and we enjoyed some steel cut oatmeal, eggs, coffee, and a newspaper. Will definitely go back again!!"

"The Hedges will inspire you to break out all of those great literary works you've been meaning to read since your Literature class in college. Each room is themed, completely unique and full of antique yet fully functional furniture. There is also an array of fun decorations and artwork to look at; somehow, it all seamless integrates and it's free of that chochki feeling you get with most houses full of things. Perhaps because it's also incredibly clean- no dust on ANYthing. Oh and the breakfast??? Complete on beautiful dishware? Wow. We will be back for a weekend book club retreat."
