Copa Airlines - New York JFK International Airport

"This was the worst experience I've ever had. I travel all the time and this was my first time with Copa. Tried to call about my situation and got the run around. My flight was canceled BOTH WAYS TO ARUBA because I screen shot my ED card. It had the barcode but my name wasn't shown. So about the time I re-done it , it was too late. Then I had to buy another ticket from Jet blue. Thought I had a ticket to go home, BUT THEY CANCELED THAT TICKET TOO. SO I HAD TO BUY ANOTHER TICKET TO GET HOME. IT WAS 3000.00 for both tickets, not knowing they canceled my ticket to get home."

"In 21 century you still need to call them to use your airline credits. You find your flight with good price . But noooo - you need to call them instead using it online. Wait for them hours to get available consult and after they say different price of ticket. I have travelled in 40 countries and never experienced anything like this. They say higher price on ticket which you see online available but cheaper . Never ever use their service."

"Lost my luggage for over a month. After the fact communication was horrible with false promises from everyone I spoke to. They gave me a number to call where no one ever answered. I had to go digging for a customer service number where everyone I spoke to just said “you are speaking to the wrong person but didn’t put me in contact with the correct department.” Unorganized and unprofessional. They said I will have to wait until another department contacts me for a refund on the cost of checking my luggage. Probably will take a few more weeks and a lot of complaining on my part."

"The JFK location uses contractor personnel at the ticket counter who are inadequately trained and lack customer service and de-escalation skills. I witnessed several shouting matches between frustrated passengers and contracted personnel. At one point I thought arguments would come to blows. Very scary situation for my family. Of the half dozen or so people working at the check-in counter, only one was an actual Copa employee, and only she had the knowledge or authority to resolve passenger issues. Even the Copa employee was incompetent, as she inexplicably converted my wife's ticket from a round trip to a one way, leaving her stranded in Panama. I would not fly Copa out of JFK even if the tickets were free."

"It’s freaking ridiculous the way your ground personnel and ramp workers handle the luggage I landed in flight # 804 at 11:09 pm and its12:57 am and we still don’t get carousel 7 moving. Stupid."
