Reviews
"It is a small park, but quiet, it does not have benches, nor a fountain to drink water, what it does have is a sculpture that, as you can see, you can take photos next to it and a garden that is pleasant to see."
"Liberty Triangle is a park located in Hollis, Queens and is named after one of its neighboring streets. The park is notable for the boulder in its center, which is painted with the stripes of the Pan-African Flag, symbolizing the advocacy for civil rights and group identity among people of African origin. Hollis has a rich history, dating back to the American Revolutionary War where General Nathaniel Woodhull was mortally wounded by British soldiers. The area remained rural after the war until Fredrick W. Denton acquired 136 acres of land and developed it into private lots, naming the area Hollis after his birthplace in New Hampshire. The Hollis station of the Long Island Railroad played a crucial role in the growth of the community, which saw increased trolley service, the development of elegant Victorian houses, and the creation of Hollis Park Gardens. Since World War II, Hollis has become a diverse, middle-class, immigrant neighborhood. The area's commercial development is centered around Jamaica Avenue in the Hollis community, which has become a hub for business and commerce. Today, Hollis continues to be a vibrant neighborhood with a rich history and a bright future."
