Welcome to the Brooklyn Public Library - Marcy Branch, a vibrant cultural and civic center located in the historic Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Nestled on Nostrand Avenue, our library serves a diverse community, from long-time residents to new arrivals, and is a proud part of a neighborhood known as the birthplace of acclaimed performers like Lena Horne and Jay-Z.
At Marcy Library, we offer a range of unique services and resources designed to enrich and support our community. Borrow up to three tools at a time from the Greenpoint Library, or explore New York City's rich cultural landscape with our museum passes, granting access to over 80 cultural institutions. For those interested in tracing their family history, we provide a comprehensive guide to genealogical research resources.
Our library is a hub for children’s programs, drawing crowds with engaging activities for toddlers and tweens. Additionally, we are committed to bridging the digital divide with 17 public computers and 10 laptops available for use, thanks to the New York City Connected Communities program, a partnership between Brooklyn Public Library and the City’s Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
